FAQ
Annotation tools draw on top of the image — arrows, boxes, blur. PixText edits the text that's already in it: the original pixels are erased, the background is rebuilt, and your new text is set in matching size and colour.
Size, weight, colour and position are matched automatically. The exact typeface isn't identified yet — you pick the closest option from the built-in font set, and common UI fonts are much easier to approximate than decorative lettering.

Yes — text is detected and edited in light and dark screenshots alike. Flat dark backgrounds rebuild well; gradients, transparency, glow effects and heavy compression may need a touch-up with the manual brush.
Images are processed in memory and never written to permanent storage. Sessions clear within 24 hours, and images are never used for training. We do not intentionally send uploaded images, filenames, OCR results or text entered in the editor to analytics providers.
Exports come back as PNG at the processed resolution. Images larger than 4096px on the long edge are scaled down to that size before editing.
