What it does
A photo text editor that changes the words already there.
Most photo text editors let you put new words on top of a picture. PixText does the harder part: it changes the text that is already in the image. Click a line in a poster, a price on a product photo or a label in a screenshot, type the new words, and the old ones are erased and the background behind them is rebuilt. The result is an image with different text on it, not a picture with a sticker covering the old words.
You can still add text on a photo the usual way. The TEXT tool places a new line anywhere you click, with the same font, size, colour and effect controls. Every line you change or add stays an editable layer until you download, so you can come back and adjust it.
Whether you call it an image text editor, a photo text editor or a picture text editor, the job is the same: find the text, replace it, and keep the rest of the image looking untouched.
What erases cleanly
Clean results depend on what is behind the text.
How well the old words disappear depends on the background they sit on, not on whether the image is a photo or a screenshot.
- Flat colours and soft gradients — app screens, slides, most social graphics. These erase cleanly almost every time.
- Photos with simple areas — sky, walls, blurred backgrounds behind a caption. Usually clean; occasionally a soft patch shows up close to the edge of a letter.
- Busy textures and patterns — brick, fabric, foliage, text printed on packaging. The rebuilt area can look smoother than the surroundings. Use the brush to touch up, or keep the replacement text the same length so it covers the same area.
If something is left behind, paint over it with the brush and PixText erases that spot again.

Upload JPG, PNG or WebP images up to 10 MB. Images longer than 4096 px on one side are scaled down before editing. Downloads are PNG at the processed resolution, so the edited text stays crisp.

Is PixText free?
Yes. The free plan includes 3 images a day, with no credit card and no watermark. Need more? Pro gives you 200 images per billing month; Unlimited has no set image cap, subject to fair use.
Do I have to subscribe?

What happens to my images?
They're processed in memory and never written to storage. Your editing session is cleared within 24 hours, and images are never used for training. What you upload stays yours.
Does it work on text printed on objects, like packaging?
It works best on text placed over backgrounds — screenshots, posters, banners and captions. Text printed directly on textured surfaces (glass, fabric, reflective packaging) is harder to remove cleanly, and results may show some blur. For those, try the manual brush tool.
Will the new text match the original font?
Exact font matching isn't guaranteed. Size, colour and position are estimated automatically, and you pick the closest option from the built-in font set. See how to match a font closely.
What formats can I upload?
JPG, PNG and WebP, up to 10MB. Very large images are resized to 4096px on the longest side. Exports download as PNG at the processed resolution.
Can it remove watermarks or logos?
The manual brush erases anything you paint over — including watermarks and logos on simple backgrounds. Only remove a watermark or logo from images you own or have permission to edit — removing someone else's watermark can infringe their copyright.
Is there a watermark on the downloaded image?
No. Downloads on every plan, including the free plan, are clean PNGs with no watermark and no PixText branding.
Can I add new text to a photo, not just change existing text?
Yes. Pick the TEXT tool and click anywhere on the image to place a new line, then choose its font, size, colour and effect. It stays editable until you download.
Does it work with languages other than English?
Detection works well for Latin-script languages and Chinese. Japanese and Korean aren't reliably detected yet. You can type replacement text in any language, though the built-in fonts are Latin-focused.
