About PixText
PixText is a small, independent tool for changing the text inside images. Upload a photo, poster or screenshot, click a line of text and type what it should say. PixText removes the original words, rebuilds the background behind them, and places your new text on top as an editable layer.
Who makes it
PixText is built and run by Ashley (Huilan Lei), an independent developer. Every feedback message comes to me directly.
How it works
Text is found with RapidOCR. The background behind it is rebuilt with LaMa, an open-source image model; simple flat backgrounds are filled in directly. Your new text is drawn in your browser using 47 open-licensed fonts, so you can change the font, size and colour before downloading.
What it's good at
Text on flat colours, gradients and simple backgrounds comes out clean. Busy textures can leave a faint trace — the erase brush is there to touch it up.
Your images
Images are kept only in memory for your editing session — never saved to disk — and cleared automatically about 24 hours after you upload them, sooner when capacity requires. See the Privacy Policy for details.
